#5 The beauty of forced deceleration

Sitting at a bay at St. Juan Island Nationalpark, somewhere between Seattle and Vancouver, I am sharing with you how my past couple of days on the family holiday with my new partner have not gone as planned. Our travels, which have started in Canada, moving down to the US, meeting a whole lot of new, caring and kind people, has been amazing. I was being my usual energetic self, being as helpful as I can and taking over things. However, playing a match of pickle ball, a sport I have never played before, changed that immediately - with an injury on my calf muscle I have suddenly been forced to slow down.

While I was not excited to cancel most of my plans and suddenly not being able to be that energetic version of myself anymore, I am, however, very grateful now for this forced deceleration and I am learning a lot from it. I have been forced to step back and be more vulnerable, which, in hindsight, might even be beneficial for becoming a part of this new family group. I can see the beauty and power now in accepting this situation as it is and I am reminded once again that it is up to us in every situation in our life to be positive, constructive and creative; to take such difficulties for what they are and turn them into something beautiful. This is where the magic happens! Thank you universe, for reminding me.

What challenges do you currently face? Take a step back and reflect: they might as well offer you to learn something, to decelerate and become aware of what is really important in your life.

Sincerely,

Sonja
